Grants for groups’ green projects

-

Green- fingered residents across Monklands can apply for funding to support community projects such as growing fruit and vegetables and promoting outdoor exercise.

Central Scotland Green Network Trust has launched a new £100,000 fund entitled Growing Food Together, and is particularly interested to hear from groups with projects for the recovery phase following lockdown.

Its chief executive, Derek Robertson, said: “We’re all aware of how important good quality local greenspace is, particularly at the moment; and community spaces will be important areas for people to come together safely as lockdown is gradually eased.

“We look forward to hearing from projects that will bring people together to enjoy the health benefits of growing fresh fruit and vegetables and creating more resilient communities.”

Applications can be made at www. cent ral scotlandgreennetwork.org until July 24.
