At BromSports, Hereford, you can be sure of a warm welcome and expert advice

BromSport’s retail shop is situated close to Hereford city centre and adjacent to the new shopping centre on the site of the old cattle market, where parking is plentiful. A friendly, family-run business, BromSports (formally Bromyard Sports) was started in 1990 by John and Rose Wood and has been trading from the present shop for over 17 years. John and Rose retired a few years ago and the shop passed to their daughter, Kate, who was brought up in the trade, and knows her stuff well.

The business specialises in airguns, but is properly licensed to supply firearms as well. A wide range of air rifles and pistols are stocked, at all levels from short-range plinking and ratting, through the springers and gas-rams, to high-end PCPs. Backing these up is a full range of essential accessories such as; ammunition, targeting, ‘scope sights, slings, swivels and cases, cleaning equipment, lamping etc. For PCP users, air-charging cylinders and stirrup pumps are stocked as well.

A wide range of knives will be found, including locks, fixed-blade, survival, gut-hook hunting, machetes and collectables. Then there are Air-Soft pistols, rifles and skirmishing accessories, together with archery bows, arrows and crossbows.

Kate is a GNAS qualified archery instructor and therefore able to offer good advice, and practical knowledge to both newcomers and seasoned archers. You can even book archery lessons with her.

BromSports is not just about selling, it’s about customers being valued and experiencing ‘High Street’ shopping as it should be. To that end, there are several services on offer such as; ‘while-you-wait’ in-store air cylinder filling, servicing and repairs at all levels and at sensible prices, hydro-dipping for customising gun stocks, and a delivery service. Coupled with this is reliable and practical help and advice in plenty, to anyone who needs it.

It’s a mark of success that many customers started coming in when they were children. Because at a young age they were made welcome in the shop, and were encouraged in their interests, many have now become loyal customers and, indeed, some even bring in their own children, so the cycle continues! That’s surely a good way of taking the sport into the future. Kate also works closely with a number of gun clubs in the area, giving talks and demonstrations when requested and developing mutual benefits for members.

Times change, though, and so do shopping patterns, so BromSports changes and adapts too. Social media is widely used to keep in touch with customers and others, and is always available if they have a question out of hours. www.broms also carries much information on the store, its products and services.

If you’re in the area keep a lookout for various shows and events. The company exhibits at several during the year, and do tune in to Sunshine Radio where you may well hear their adverts. Call into the shop and experience old values, in harmony with modern shopping. I

Service with a smile is a BromSports guarantee!

People come back, year after year.

So much stock, and what a variety!
