C and R Testing, based in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire are about to receive stock of the Alkin W31 vertical air compressor, designed to save space at 88 x 59 x 50cms, and just 67kgs. Its compressor block is housed on top of the motor so it will fit where other compressors would be too wide. It can still provide compressed gas at 105 to 140 litres per minute, depending on a 2.2kw or 3.0kw motor. All versions of this compressor can deliver either 232 or 300 bar. We hope to have one for review in these pages very soon.

The programme includes; a field target course where you can use .30 calibre, a silhouette speed shoot and a pistol competition.

Air Arms have joined forces with British Shooting to host the first-ever Target Sprint GB Festival, at the Yate Outdoor Sports Complex on the 5th, 6th and 7th of October, to include the first running of the ISSF Target Sprint World Tour 2018: British Open. Webley has a family of rifles based around a common action, including the En4orcer seen in the editor’s test this month, and the striking little Eclipse pictured here. The magazine-fed, sidelever action delivers 5.5 ft.lbs. of highly accurate performance making this perhaps the ultimate close-range ratting gun. At just 25” long with the adjustable stock fully collapsed, it’s handy in tight spots, but with the stock extended to more usual dimensions, it handles much like its full-size cousins. The barrel is screw-cut ready to accept a silencer, adding to its hunting credentials. The stock is adjustable for pull length and cheek piece height, whilst the highly contoured pistol grip aids fine trigger control. She’s a looker too, if the tactical thing is to your tastes. www.highlandoutdoors.co.uk RRP £449.99

Last month, OnTarget shooting range in Northampton held their first-ever biathlon charity fundraiser for the Air Ambulance Service – a sporting event in which novice and seasoned shooters could compete on an even playing field. The race took place over three laps; the competitors cycled two miles, then sprinted through to the shooting lanes to load their rifles and take 16 shots from the elbow at a target 30mm across, and each missed shot resulted in a 20-second time penalty.

Competitors were: Joseph Rudd, 23, Marketing Manager, Becki Young, 19, Personal Trainer, Bradley Lambert, 22, Operations Manager at OnTarget, Lewis Bird, 17, Sales Assistant at OnTarget, and Drew Winslow, 49, IT Manager.

As the final lap came to a finale, Joseph fired his 16 rounds and was the first to cross the finish line. Bradley followed closely behind, then Becki, Drew and Lewis.

Drew had managed to improve under pressure and won the final round of shooting, dropping just 7 shots of 16, but Bradley Lambert balanced both speed and skill to land an astonishing victory. All in all, the event was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed the day and we were able to raise £600 for the Air Ambulance service. Donations can still be made at www.ontaregtrange.co.uk/biathlon. We would also like to mention Sparkey Detailing, PTS Gym in Northampton, and Decathlon Northampton, who all supported OnTarget. It was go, go, go during the fantastic OnTarget biathlon fundraiser. Well done, everyone!

The Colt 1911 is one of the most admired handguns ever made and SIG Sauer has added a new and unusual one to its catalogue. ‘We The People’ is modelled on the full-size centrefire pistol inspired by a rich, patriotic history. This BB pistol version of an American handgun features the same custom grips adorned with 50 stars (25 per side) that represent each state of the Union. A distressed finish on the stainless steel slide and frame includes patriotic engravings, such as 13 stars atop the slide and ‘We The People’ and ‘1776’ on the slide flats. It’s a highly unusual version of this classic handgun and one sure to appeal to collectors.

www.highlandoutdoors.co.uk £179.99 SIG Sauer is offering this highly unusual 1911 in BB-firing form.

This new compressor offers great performance in a compact design.

Air Arms is fully behind Target Sprint which is a great new sport.

If you shoot a Daystate at the Extreme Benchrest this year some big bonuses could come your way.

This ultra-compact rifle could be the ultimate ratter.
