These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake signalling and technology upgrades and replacement and all associated works It is expected that the work will last for approximately 5 months starting on or after Wednesday 22nd July 2020. The closure of the emergency refuge areas and the HGV outside lane running will apply wherever the inside lane is closed. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 20 July 2020 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using other junctions on the M3 and M25, and by using the M25, A30, A327, A331, and A332. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closure in force.
