How to feed your plants

Never feed a dry plant. The compost should be just-moist, so neither dry or saturated. This peperomia is way too dry.

Fertilisers are not a pick-me-up. A sickly plant with inactive roots will not be able to take up nutrients, which accumulate in the pot.

Ready-to-use foliar sprays like Orchid Myst are a convenient yet expensive way to feed, but great if all you have is a couple of moth orchids.

Slow release drip feeders deliver plant food with little effort. Some are general purpose and others are tailored for citrus, or orchids.
