Give coloured shot a shot

I think there are a couple of advantages to be gained by using coloured shot. To begin with, by using darker colours that are less obtrusive than bright shot, your rigs blend in better with their surroundings.
But I have discovered an even better side to using painted shot, in that it doesn’t tend to slip as easily as plain versions. The paint-covered surface grips the line better. I particularly find this the case with larger shot such as AAAs and SSGs, which I use to lock wagglers on the line.
