DAIWA’S Powermesh Float and Feeder Rod range is aimed at specialist anglers after quality fish on ‘positive’ methods.

The most powerful is a 12 ft 2.75 lb Barbel rod, for big rivers or when there’s some flow on, for use with heavy payloads, including pellet leads, big feeders or PVA bagging.

There are also 13 ft, 14 ft and 15 ft

Float rods, with line ratings of 3-10 lb, suiting everything from a pole float and ’pin down the edge for ‘lumpy’ carp, to bigger wagglers for tench and bream, or trotting a balsa down the flow for barbel and chub.

11 ft 6 in., 12 ft 6 in. and 13 ft 6 in. Feeder rods have casting weights of 50 g, 70 g and 90 g respectively. Each come with 1.5 oz, 2 oz and 3 oz quivertips.

The high-grade blanks, which include a 1K woven carbon, give the power required by anglers targeting big fish, but they’ve been carefully designed with a ‘fish-playing cushion’, to guard against any surprises, especially when playing big fish at close-quarters.

These rods have a full cork handle, Fuji DPS reel seat, stainless steel frame guides and lightweight, LS ceramic rings in a padded rod sleeve. Between them they cover a broad range of methods.
