What’s be­ing caught? Carp are the main species, but also lots of ac­tion from sil­ver fish and fan­tails. The roach fish­ing can be ex­cel­lent.

Tac­tics? Mag­gots, corn and pel­lets un­der pole gear can tempt a lot of ac­tion. Wag­gler or feeder for the carp.

Or­chard Lakes

On Match Lake, sev­eral pegs good for 50 lb-plus of small carp, cru­cians, bar­bel, tench, roach and rudd. On its day, 100 lb-plus is pos­si­ble. Tac­tics? Try short and longer pole with meat, corn, pel­lets, worms, mag­gots and cast­ers. Run­ning line float or leger for the carp on Main Lake, with pel­lets work­ing well.
