A FINAL day catch of 27 lb 4 oz boosted Salford, Manchester, ’tip ace Gareth Lambert to overall victory in the four-day Loch Ken autumn festival at the South West Scotland venue.

“I drew peg 9 on the birches length and targeted 18 ft of depth at

50-55 m, landing 27 skimmers for third on the day,” said Gareth. “Colin Duckett beat me by 4 oz next peg, with roach on the whip, and Jimmy Messer won with a 30 lb of whip roach weight off the shale bank. But I won overall with an 87 lb 4 oz total, and

I’m buzzing. It’s taken me ten years to finally win a Ken festival,” he added. Gareth Lambert’s final day Loch Ken catch of skimmers.

Changes are afoot for 2018 on the Avon at Evesham.
