John’s TOP TIPS
■ Take real time with your rigs. Tie them well and make sure that they will do the job if a big fish is hooked.
■ A lot of these rigs come from Angler’s Mail. It’s always worth keeping your copies and perhaps cutting out rig designs that will come in handy some time in the future. ■ It’s a great idea to test your rigs at home in the sink, the bath or just a bowl. You don’t want to be faffing around on the bank.
■ Try to keep all your rigs neat, tidy and safe. I’m useless at that, and I’m neurotic about spilling a rig on a bank where an animal might be endangered.
