Barbel on his toe!

Anglers Mail - - 2. 1. 4. 3. -

PETE was wading in the river, trotting for chub primarily. He had been putting in the bait regularly and I guess quite a bit had fallen around his feet.

You can guess what. He looked down and there just a foot away from his boots was a barbel he put at low to mid doubles. Of course, he couldn’t really get a bait to it, but stood stock still wondering what on earth to do.

The barbel fed for a little while, then looked up and presumably saw him and ambled off downriver, sadly never to be seen again.

You spend all your while wondering how to sneak into position and avoid spooking a fish and something like that happens!
