Golden bagger Brown
FRESH from yet another couple of triumphs earlier in the week at Preston Innovations Boldings Pools, in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, my mate, the inimitable Penkridgebased baggin’ machine Dave Brown (Dynamite Maver Midlands) went on to win the 118-entry Round Two of the Heronbrook Teams of Four Winter League, at the Slindon, Eccleshall, Staffordshire, match mecca. He managed to catch 31 fish for a cracking 187 lb 8 oz of carp to 16 lb and eight F1s at Match Lake peg 5.
Triple Fish‘O’ Champ Jamie Hughes (MAP), who won Round One, came second. Dave then went on to top the Angling
Trust and Canal & River Trust Canal Pairs Championship with partner Wednesfield’s Robbie Lloyd.
Well done Dave and Robbie! Next time I see Dave in a café having breakfast before a match, I’ll shake his hand and maybe some of his match fishing good fortune will rub off on me. I could do with it!
