Cot­man­hay AC was formed in the late 1950s for an­glers in the Der­byshire area, but they also have mem­bers from fur­ther afield now. The Club con­trols about 1.5 miles of the Ere­wash Canal in the pic­turesque Ere­wash Val­ley, from Barker’s Lock 70 to Ship­ley Lock 72, with good mixed coarse and preda­tor fish­ing. This friendly club is ac­tively seek­ing new mem­bers of all ages. Mem­ber­ship is very rea­son­able at just £16, or day tick­ets are avail­able on the tow­path for £2.

Tac­tics? Mainly pole. Mag­gots, pinkies, squatts and chopped worm ef­fec­tive for the sil­ver fish and perch. Lures and sprats from the lo­cal mar­ket at­tract­ing the pike.
