Ltd control several excellent stillwaters around the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire border, and stretches of the Rivers Ivel and Great Ouse. Their blue-riband water is Gingerbread Lake, which holds carp to 40 lb-plus, specimen tench and bream, with the nearby Sandy Lakes complex a fast-rising attraction. The club is affiliated to the Ivel Preservation Association, which gives members further access to other clubs’ waters. What’s being caught? Tench to 4 lb, perch, roach and rudd between the village bridges and along the first 20 pegs at Chapel Farm. Double-figure pike also possible.
Tactics? Chopped worm, casters, red maggots and dead pinkies feed for the tench. Light pole rigs with squatts, pinkies and groundbait for the roach and rudd. Float legered smelt or lamprey for the pike.
