80lb common heads amazing haul

Angling Times (UK) - - SOUTH -

TEVE Kitcher broke his personal best an incredible four times in a single day as he racked up a massive cross-Channel haul at Les Teillatts.

The Isle of Wight angler kicked off the incredible day with four fish in an hour to 53lb 9oz, before landing a 75lb 8oz mirror later in the morning.

A 58lb 8oz common followed that afternoon, before an 11.30pm run resulted in the Digital Common at a huge 80lb 2oz.

“At the start of the week I really would have settled for one fish over the 50lb mark,” said Steve, “but to have done that with both a mirror and a common and then totally blown them away with a mirror of 75lb and a common of 80lb really make this the session of a lifetime.”

Steve, who came third in the weekly draw for swims at the French venue and plotted up in The Crescent, used CC Moore Live System bottom baits tipped with halved Dairy Supreme pop-ups.

He ended up with 15 fish for the week, including a 62lb mirror and a total of three fifties and two forties.
