Put your feet up Dick!

Angling Times (UK) - - SOUTH -

DICK Clegg has been an incredible ambassador for our sport, and I wish him well in his retirement.

His achievements were simply mind-blowing. Whenever he led a team in a major international it was almost guaranteed that medals would be brought back to home soil, usually gold ones!

Dick brought the best out of people, making them gel as a unit to produce winning results.

He made England a winning nation, and his influence is still rubbing off, judging by our continuing successes.

So sit back and enjoy retirement, Dick. You can relax safe in the knowledge that you are a legend. Colin Simpson, Evesham well over 80lb of small carp.

Next trip I visited a fishery I had never set eyes on before. The paths were well cut, pegs were well spaced and there were toilets that were clean. There was also plenty of wildlife with swans, moorhens and even a kingfisher that flashed by regularly.

I only caught three or four fish but I enjoyed my day out 10 times more than on the somewhat messy fishery.

There really is so much more to angling than just catching fish. Dave Mitchell, Grimsby
