Beat 1: . This stretch is very lightly fished. It runs from the golf course at Parley to the New Weir at Throop. For just £5 a day anglers can target big barbel, chub, perch, tench and roach on this deep stretch.
Beat 2: Beginning at the New Weir and running all the way down to the road bridge on the A338 at Blackwater, it passes through a lovely gravel bottom with lots of shallows and deep pools. It holds the Throop record barbel of 16lb 2oz along with chub to 8lb 3oz, specimen roach, perch and some huge pike to over 30lb.
Beat 3: This runs from the A338 at Blackwater down to Iford Bridge, which is part of the tidal stretch. Many large barbel have been taken from this stretch to over 15lb and all methods and baits can be used, even the float when conditions are right.
