Laid-back in Lincolnshire Sycamore Farm, close to the coast and stuffed with fish T
HE coast around Skegness is a famous fishing holiday destination with dozens of fisheries dotted around the area.
Many offer holiday accommodation to cater for the demands of hordes of visiting spring and summer anglers – and at Sycamore Farm Park you’ll struggle to find a better site for both fishing and the overall holiday experience.
Sited in Burgh-le-Marsh just off the busy A158 road to Skegness, hustle and bustle is the last thing you’ll experience. The sprawling 14-acre site is surrounded by the Lincolnshire Wolds and woodlands to make your fishing trip a tranquil, laid-back affair.
Sycamore has two lakes, neither of which carry a name, but both are stuffed with fish to offer plenty of bites throughout the day. Early and late offers the very best of the sport with carp, tench, roach and rudd the dominant species. Bread is a popular bait but just a few pints of maggots will give you all the action you could ever ask for.
Accommodation is just as impressive, and at reasonable rates too, with two Fisherman’s Cottages of two and three bedrooms. A touring pitch for tents and caravans offers electric hook-ups plus 10 static caravans. Five of these have double glazing and central heating, but no pets are allowed.
The remaining five are double glazed and allow small, well-behaved pets.
