Del­uge just a mem­ory as fifty landed at a new high

DAY-ticket fish­ery which closed for six months due to flood­ing has bounced back to pro­duce one of its fifties at a top weight. al­most all the fish in place as the wa­ter level rose 9ft and the flood cov­ered 450 acres.

He ad­mit­ted one twenty had died and 11 other fish had been re­turned alive to the lake, having been found the wrong side of the fence.

“It’s strange to see how things have re­cov­ered,” he added. “The scenic green­ery around the lake is thriv­ing, and so are its in­hab­i­tants.”

The cap­ture of Black Scale came on the fi­nal day of a three-night ses­sion in peg 6 and blitzed An­drew’s pb by 25lb.

He said: “Af­ter an epic bat­tle I caught the mon­ster. The scales went round to 53lb 12oz and I was blown away.”

The fish, which last came out pre-flood at 50lb 6oz, was caught on a 2ft zig rig.
