GREAT RIVER START IN NORFOLK WITH A 32lb 12oz COMMON
Six fish in two nights on the Yare
HE start of the river season has given Michael Simmonds a great selection of running-water carp, topped by an impressive 32lb 12oz common.
Plotting up on Norfolk’s River Yare and feeding 2kg of boilies and some particles, Michael’s first fish of the new season was a 19lb 12oz mirror which came just 20 minutes into June 16. A 14lb 2oz common followed at about 6am.
A day later, Michael returned to the same waterway, but fished a different swim. He said: “Arriving late at about 11.30pm, I found a couple of spots and clipped up and put two rods out with snowman rigs over 50 baits.
“Nothing happened during the night, but I rebaited and put the rods back out at about 9.30am and I had a one-toner which ended up with a 32lb 12oz common.
“Half an hour later I had an 18lb 5oz common, then a 14lb 10oz and a 12lb 8oz common.
“Happy days! I’ve seen my new season in in style.”
