The Ultimate Fishing Show, BT Sport 1, Friday, July 1, 8pm portfolio of waters, and this seems like a sensible way to make sure the high standards the club has set remain in place. Will Meredith, Cannock PREDATOR fishing has become incredibly popular in recent years, and considering how busy modern day life is for most, that is hardly surprising.

Match or carp anglers need to dedicate at least a whole day to their fishing and have to take an awful lot of tackle with them if they want to be in with a chance of catching a few fish.

But it is totally different for predator anglers.

You can leave the house with a rod, landing net and a few bits of terminal tackle and spend as little or as much time on the bank as you want.

I regularly go down to the local canal and spend an hour chucking lures into a few different swims, and can then get home before the other half gets irritated!

Last week’s Angling Times revealed that a new predator fishery called Lake Savage is set On Coarse With Dean Macey, Quest, Monday, July 5, 6am

The Grilling, episode 3, Dr Paul Garner, youtube.com to open. I can see it being a huge success. Darren Ashton, Lincoln WHEN I missed out on winning a match by an ounce last summer there was a funny side.

I had the dog in tow on a small Fen drain, and all was well until I swung in a 1oz roach, which came off the hook and landed in the grass between me and the hound.

Quick as a flash he picked the fish up and it vanished down his throat. After this, he was banished to the van and come weigh-in time I tipped 6lb-odd on to the scales and followed the board down the bank, only to find out I’d been pipped by an ounce.

As a footnote I thought I’d try changing the dog’s food to a fish flavour after that match. You’ve guessed it – the bugger wouldn’t touch the stuff!
