UST three fish gave Terry Clayton a staggering combined weight of 214lb in 30 hours at a French holiday venue.

The West Sussex tailor got the measure of the stock at Etang Du Bois and banked commons of 82lb, 79lb 14oz and 53lb in an incredible spell.

The 51-year-old told Angling Times: “It was amazing, absolutely amazing – the perfect session. The 79lb 14oz one was my favourite fish, it was just stunning and is known as the Missing Fish as it hasn’t been caught for nearly four years.

“For it to go uncaught for so long when the lake is fished every day is incredible.”

The largest fish, the venue’s biggest, smashed Terry’s previous personal best of 56lb 12oz and has recently been named JP in honour of the late Jan Porter.
