Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

IT WOULD be fair to say that Daiwa Dorking’s victory in the World Club Championship was ‘comprehensive’ and that the jinx on English teams has at last been laid to rest.

While everyone is fully aware of the ability of the anglers in the team, including my old mate and ‘apprentice’ Darren Davies, there is no doubt that the experience gathered by manager Steve Sanders with various England teams, as well as Dorking, down the years makes a massive difference.

Although Dorking were my sworn enemies on the bank in team matches going back the best part of 40 years, no-one can deny that they brought respect and a sense of power to southern match fishing.

Dorking – what a performance in the World Club Championships!
