Such workouts aren’t for me!

Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

I’M less than impressed with match results that owe significantly more to powerlifting than angling skills. So although I both know and like Michael Corsini, the sort of fishing he enjoys isn’t for me, and I’d go so far as to say I can’t admire his feats (pages 26 and 27).

Like Michael in this feature, anglers at the last three Fish O’ finals have had their heart rates monitored, and watching 2016 winner Andy May’s readings increase during the final hour was enthralling.

A relatively ‘average’ Arran’s Lake weight of 500lb in five hours means a 4lb carp needs to be landed every 160 seconds. I admire the strength, concentration and endurance... but it ain’t fishing!

Michael Corsini loves Arran’s… but it’s not for me.
