NORTH/EAST BANK (UNMARKED PEGS)

The reed and tree-lined margins produce some big carp and the odd tench to 5lb on pole tackle. Double-figure fish have been caught here on dead maggots over a krill-based groundbait. Alternatively, the pegs nearer the boating club have 7ft-8ft of water where carp like to bask during the summer. The pellet waggler fished a foot deep or a bubble float and dog biscuit combo will catch carp on hot days. A maggot feeder chucked down the shelf close in will catch roach, perch and tench also too. It takes around 25 minutes to walk to this side, but it’s peaceful here!
