GET ON A LURE THIS SUMMER
Travel light, says ace Sam Edmonds
Fishing a Berkley Rocket Craw at Dobbs Weir on the Lea. EW things are more enjoyable than spending a summer’s day lure fishing on a river.
I often try to cover as much water as I can in a single session, but one area of a river I’ll pay particular attention to at this time of year is a weir pool – the roar and fresh weedy smell of the foaming white water found here always reminds me of summer, and it’s a magnet for fish.
Full of oxygenated water, weir pools are exciting places to fish as bites can be very aggressive, and playing the fish in a strong current A boxful of my favourite soft plastics.
