Is there more than one use for rig winders?

Angling Times (UK) - - TIPS & TACTICS -

HOW do I use rig winders? Are they only for pole rigs or do they have other uses as well?

Martin Carnell, Andover

RIG winders like those on the front of this week’s Angling Times are very useful in several respects.

Most of all, winders are used for storing rigs for pole fishing. Available in several different lengths and widths, they are designed to fit neatly into tackle box trays and drawers, and the winder you choose should be determined by the size of float you want to store. Some top anglers carry hundreds of them!

However, winders like those free with this week’s issue aren’t just for pole anglers. Float rigs, leger set-ups and hooklengths can all be stored on them.

See below for how to attach a rig to one…
