Westwood Lakes boss gets my vote for his mid-match weigh-ins
FAIR play to Westwood Lakes for putting fish welfare first.
I read in last week’s Angling Times that the boss is introducing a half-time weigh-in for matches, and there’s no doubt that this new policy will put some people off visiting the complex.
Plenty of fishery owners would bow to the pressure of visitors and abandon a half-time weigh-in, but when temperatures are skyhigh it makes sense to introduce measures like this to prevent fish from becoming stressed.
Westwood has displayed fantastic fishery management, and if I was a local I would certainly continue to fish there. Ray Barron, Winchester
