Legered corn for a massive rudd best

Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

A SINGLE grain of legered corn saw James Thomson smash his rudd personal best with this impressive 3lb 10oz specimen.

Following the recent capture of two other fish weighing 3lb 4oz and 2lb 14oz from a venue that he calls the ‘forgotten pond’, he returned to target its ultracautious residents.

It didn’t take long for the tip of the Sleaford, Lincs, angler’s rod to arch round after he cast out the popular offering that he fished in conjunction with a PVA bag filled with pellets and a 3lb mainline.

“I will never forget the sight of that fish glowing under the light of my head torch. It was the most amazing specimen I’ve ever laid eyes on,” said James.
