New barbel best from River Nidd
MICHELLE Thompson has broked the official River Nidd barbel record with the capture of this 12lb 2oz specimen.
The angler from Halifax, West Yorks, was fishing with her partner David Dolecki on a Bradford No1 AA-run stretch of the waterway when the monster fish took a liking to her large chunk of bacon grill hookbait.
The fish beats the previous official record for the waterway, which has stood at 11lb 10oz since 2007.
