ACOUPLE of years ago I went out on a margin fishing feature with Steve Ringer. After three carp I’d shot enough action footage, but I wanted to capture the moment the float buried so I donned chest waders and slipped into the water a couple of feet from Steve’s pole-tip.
A large carp came from behind, bashed its way through my legs, swam underneath the camera tripod and went down on to Steve’s feed. Seconds later the float buried and elastic streamed from the pole.
Ignore what you may have heard about margin carp being spooky – when you get them on the feed they’ll take some stopping! Read Steve’s latest column on page 34 and give it a go this weekend.
