TRIALS for the England Disabled and Vets squads for 2017 take place next month on September 9.

This is early due to arrangements and bookings which need to be made for the competitions next year in Serbia. Veterans must be at least 55 years old on December 31, 2016 to compete and any angler who is registered disabled is eligible for this category. Each angler must also be an individual member of The Angling Trust.

The Vets Team is bidding to become the first English coarse fishing side in history to win three team gold medals on the trot, after victory in the previous two events. The trials will take place at Packington Somers Fishery in Meriden, Solihull.

If you would like to attend please contact Sandra Drew on 0115 822 4519 or sandra. drew@anglingtrust.net. Further information from Joe Roberts on 07860 469595.

Next year the age limits for the World Youth Champs are increased to Under-20 and Under-25 categories.

The venue for all age groups is Inniscarra Lake in Ireland. Youth trials dates are expected to be announced in early 2017.
