Angling Times (UK) - - WHERE TO FISH -

Local expert Russell Shipton says: Tackle: “Use strong, reliable tackle to land quality carp – 0.20mm mainline to an 0.18mm hooklength and a size 12 hook for paste, or size a 14 for banded pellet. A red NG Twin Core elastic rated 14-16 will get fish in quickly, with a 0.3g NG Paste Decker providing the necessary stability.” Bait: “Keep the feed to a minimum. Lower your rig in and feed just a pinch of 6mm pellets. Carp will seek out your hookbait quickly and lead to an instant bite.” Tactics: “Start in front of you in the deeper water but if foulhooked fish become a problem, switch to the shallowest water tight to the bank. Leave plenty of float bristle showing to help you tell liners from bites.”
