Eel best rocked by carp angler

Angling Times (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

A claimed 11lb eel has been landed from a stillwater in London.

The fish was foul-hooked by Steve Walters from North London while fishing for carp with boilie.s

The current British record for the species stands at 11lb 2oz, landed in 1978 and on reflection of his capture Steve said: “It wasn’t until the day after I caught the eel that I realised how close to the record it was. “If I knew I would have taken my time and been really thorough about the weighing and the photography of the eel.
