Fewer fish, more fun

Angling Times (UK) - - YOUR FISHING WEEK -

IT IS all well and good that fisheries are thinking about outlawing certain methods to stop weights spiralling out of control, but have they ever stopped to think that the actual problem is that they have too many fish?!

When commercials first came to the fore I was a regular visitor, as there was still an element of skill involved in getting a few bites, but these days it is almost guaranteed that the float will go under within minutes of starting.

Alders Farm seem to have proved that taking fish out is the actual answer to driving catches back down to a sensible level as they have more than halved catches, scaling back from 500lb winning bags down to a lot more manageable and achievable 200lb hauls – and it’s all the better for it.
