GARY BAYES: UK’s First 60lb Carp

Angling Times (UK) - - 50 GREATEST CATCHES -

IT WAS hardly an event that was unexpected at the time, but when Gary Bayes landed Britain’s first 60lb-plus carp in September 2002, it was still a landmark in the most popular arm of coarse fishing.

The fish, which was known as Two-Tone, was taken on a boilie during a session at Conningbrook Lake in Kent. It would go on to hold the British record until January 2016.
