Roy Worth was un­stop­pable this time around and in­cluded nu­mer­ous dou­ble-fig­ure carp in his 330-5-0 bag, taken on pel­let from peg 86 on Cary. Camp­bell Lake’s best weight of the day came from peg 126, where Steve Shaw took sec­ond place over­all with 237-10-0.

MED­WAY TACKLE PAIRS Bough Beech (24 pegs) Long-dis­tance feed­er­fish­ing is usu­ally the name of the game on big reser­voirs, but Richard Tay­lor fished within me­tres of the bank to land a win­ning 31-12-0. The Dren­nan an­gler fished long pole and mag­got and man­aged to keep redfins to 1lb com­ing through­out. He was also part of the win­ning pair, with him and third-placed Ge­off Val­lance record­ing a per­fect two-point tally.

The fish­ing for the fi­nal round was also good and Tony Hobbs, of the win­ning squad, took in­di­vid­ual hon­ours with 19-5-0. This was his third win in six con­tests in the se­ries. He used worm and caster on the long pole from peg 2 be­low Po­plars at Med­ley for two bream and plenty of roach and perch. Steve Townsend was run­ner-up with 15-8-0 from the bot­tom end peg in the same stretch.

PUDDLEDOCK FISH­ERY (WEDS) Snake Lake (21 pegs) The mar­gins were the place to tar­get in this match and John Hunt did it in style with 199-0-0. He may have nar­rowly missed out on the dou­ble ton, but that didn’t re­ally mat­ter as banded pel­let helped him ex­tract carp to 12lb from peg 92. This gave him a com­fort­able cush­ion of more than 60lb over the near­est chllenger.

PUDDLEDOCK FISH­ERY Snake Lake (32 pegs) John Hunt made it a dou­ble for the week with a 176-4-0 catch. Hav­ing bagged down the mar­gins in the mid­week open, the Brent­wood an­gler used the same ap­proach. It did him proud once again, as fish to dou­ble fig­ures fell to banded pel­let fished in the edge of peg 10. Micky Hood went one bet­ter than in the mid­week fix­ture, tak­ing sec­ond place with 145-2-0.
