Dan’s seventh fifty on his own loop rig

Angling Times (UK) - - CARP NEWS -

IN-FORM Dan Taylor has been at it again with another 50-pounder.

His seventh UK fish over the magical mark came just an hour into an overnight session at a Kent syndicate venue.

“I got my baits out at around 7pm and no more than an hour later the rod on the prebaited area was away,” he said. “After a heavy scrap going from weedbed to weedbed, I landed my seventh UK carp over 50lb at 51lb 4oz.

“I was blown away, and it made the early pack-up for work the next day so much easier!”

The Ashford rod, who banked a 47lb common from the same water a fortnight ago, was using a presentation he calls the loop rig. This features a size Nash Fang X hook and a 4oz flat pear lead on a clip.

The successful hookbait was a meshed 18mm Nashbait Key Cray boilie placed over 10 freebies in a 5ft silt depression surrounded by 2ft bars.
