Angling Times (UK) - - YOUR FISHING WEEK -

ACCORDING to a survey from the Angling Trust, a third of the UK population has tried fishing at some point in their lives. That’s a huge number, so why aren’t there more people getting into our sport and going fishing more often?

Seemingly the biggest barrier is the one that impacts on most other sports and activities in the UK – ‘family commitments’.

This annoys me intensely – go fishing and take the family with you, it’s that simple!

The best fishing sessions I have ever had weren’t about pounds and ounces or match wins, they were those spent with my family.

Most fisheries these days are geared up with superb facilities, easy-access lakes full of fish, open weekends, and shows that offer multiple activities involving a bit of fishing too – for all family members.

For the sake of the sport we all love so much, and if you do only one thing this year, make sure it’s to take the family fishing.

You’ll find all the info you need to find a venue to go to and the tips to help you catch more fish in the pages of Angling Times every week.
