BIG WEIGHTS STILL FALLING ACROSS UK
Clubs celebrate double tons and 45-year match record falls
SEPTEMBER is here, but that doesn’t mean an end to the mega-weights of high summer.
Three Clubman sides recorded double tons on their various travels, bolstered by some solid silverfish weights from around the UK on waters where carp aren’t to be found.
Youngster Ben Clarke was the toast of South Yorkshire club Bowbroom AC after the 15-year-old smashed the club’s 45 year match record in style, recording 251-1-0 of carp on pellet from Woodhouse Grange Fishery, almost 200lb in front of runner-up and dad David.
Down south at Orchard Place, Andy Webb used his favourite paste approach to win the Andy’s Mob event with 201-2-0 of F1s, and at Decoy Lakes caster shallow was the winning tactic for Lee Kendall, who took the JVAC match with 255-3-0 of carp and F1s.
