Clubs cel­e­brate dou­ble tons and 45-year match record falls

SEPTEM­BER is here, but that doesn’t mean an end to the mega-weights of high sum­mer.

Three Club­man sides recorded dou­ble tons on their var­i­ous trav­els, bol­stered by some solid sil­ver­fish weights from around the UK on wa­ters where carp aren’t to be found.

Young­ster Ben Clarke was the toast of South York­shire club Bow­b­room AC af­ter the 15-year-old smashed the club’s 45 year match record in style, record­ing 251-1-0 of carp on pel­let from Wood­house Grange Fish­ery, al­most 200lb in front of run­ner-up and dad David.

Down south at Or­chard Place, Andy Webb used his favourite paste ap­proach to win the Andy’s Mob event with 201-2-0 of F1s, and at De­coy Lakes caster shal­low was the win­ning tac­tic for Lee Ken­dall, who took the JVAC match with 255-3-0 of carp and F1s.
