An incredibly moving capture
THE story of Eddie Warde’s capture of this Northants forty really moved us. Just a fortnight before his trip, Eddie’s dad was diagnosed with cancer and he died five days before the session.
Determined to go out and catch a fish in memory of his dad, Eddie went to Ecton Lakes and had the fish he really wanted, the Big Lin at 43lb 4oz.
Eddie told Angling Times: “I was in pieces, so after weighing we sacked her as sunrise was almost upon us and raised a celebratory beer to my beloved dad, knowing he had made all my dreams come true. “I just sat in the water with the Big Lin, sobbing until sunrise.”
