Angling Times (UK) - - TIPS & TACTICS -

TIGER nuts have an awful lot going for them as a carp bait, and by far the best time to use ‘growlers’ (as they are known) is late summer and autumn. Carp love their texture and the natural sugars they emit, and they also resemble one of the carp’s most important natural food items – water snails. Furthermore, they are far cheaper than boilies, and species such as tench and bream are not as fond of them. Despite all this, very few anglers seem willing to put their faith in tigers, so give them a go!
