TRIPLE FIGURE WEIGHTS
GRANGE PARK FISHERY, MESSINGHAM, N LINCS
AT MESSINGHAM’S Grange Park Fishery, match weights across all four pools on the complex have been in triple figures over the past month.
Of these, Heron, Osprey and Kingfisher have been producing the goods for matchmen using maggots, paste and pellets. The best weight of 207lb was by Phil Deitch, who mostly carp to 5lb down his edge line on paste. But it’s not just carp that dominate, as an excellent stocking of F1s, goldfish,
crucians and silverfish features across all the lakes to help with catches in the colder months.
In one open match last year, peg 11 on Kingfisher produced 120lb of pure crucians for one angler fishing maggot shallow – so you know it’s not just the carp that will pull your float under. Right now, paste and pellet is working, as too is maggot and caster shallow, although the regulars here are having better results on meat and hemp at 7m on the deck.
On the 26-peg Curlew Pool, youngsters and pleasure anglers can catch carp to 4lb. PRICES: £5 a day, £4 concessions CONTACT: 01724 764828 or 07970671943
