Britain’s most commonly caught fish are in a river or stillwater near you so why not go in search of a specimen or a netful of redfins this week?
PROBABLY the most commonly caught species in Britain, there is something about the roach that attracts thousands of anglers to the bank each week.
Specimens over 2lb are seen as the holy grail of angling, so as part of our roach special, Angling Times has put together the UK’s top redfin venues for you to try this weekend.
BITTER WELL LAKE, BRISTOL

BRADSHAW HALL FISHERIES, BOLTON, LANCS

LLOYDS MEADOW, CHESTER, CHESHIRE

MESSINGHAM SANDS, SCUNTHORPE, E YORKS

RIVER BRUE, WEST LYDFORD, SOMERSET

RIVER DEE, FARNDON, CHESHIRE
