MATRIX TIDAL RIVER TRENT FESTIVAL (FRI-SUN) River Trent, Dunham, North Clifton & Laughterton (56 pegs)

TRENT match organiser Alan Henry won the summer’s big event – the Matrix Tidal Festival – as he finished on a perfect three points to end up one clear of Alistair Ogilvie and Toby Bunting, joint second on four apiece.

Alan began on peg 42 at Laughterton, fishing feeder and maggot for 9-12-0 of roach, dace, perch and a few skimmers to win his section.

Day two put him at North Clifton peg 37, where he found 19-10-0 for a match win.

Feeder and maggot produced roach, dace, perch and a bonus 4lb bream before a late switch to the waggler brought more dace and roach.

On the final day Alan drew

peg 3 at Dunham downstream.

Feeder and maggot was again his trusty go-to method and 13-3-0 of mainly dace and roach saw him home!

Result: 1 A Henry, Shimano/Dynamite Baits, 3pts; jt2 A Ogilvie, Sensas and T Bunting, Quorn, both 4; jt4 P Richardson, Lincoln Whisby, P Moutrey, Scunthorpe Angling and J Small, Lincoln Whisby, all 5.
