I AM thinking of changing to eyed hooks. Can you tell me the best way to tie them to give me the best presentation?
Rachel Newton, via email
THE best knot for tying an eyed hook is the knotless knot, which is a very clean and easy way of fishing with eyed hooks and one that gives you the option of using a hair-rig too.
Popular with carp and commercial fishery anglers, as the name suggests there’s no actual knot involved and so no obvious weak point – what’s more it can be tied with any size hook and strength of line.
