I’m a fan of squatts – little baits for big fish
I’VE had success using all the baits that Dr Paul Garner suggested for roach, but there was one he failed to mention that has worked wonders for me time and time again.
Everybody seems to think that squatts are only useful for tiny fish on canals, but I have put them to great use when targeting big redfins and had several fish closing in on the 2lb mark on them in the past!
I find that using big bunches of them works well, especially on heavily pressured waters where the fish have been caught plenty of times before.
Give them a try this week – hopefully you’ll end up with a new personal best going in the net. Grant Sutton, email
