THE RIGHT LINE

Angling Times (UK) - - TIP & TACTICS -

Thick lines don’t cast well on normal coarse gear so I’d advise a thinner, lighter mainline with a shockleader. I’ve settled on 5lb Power Max as my mainline. My 10lb shockleader cushions the power of the cast, and is 17ft-18ft long. When you make a cast you should have a couple of rotations of shockleader around the reel spool to cast off.
