Angling Times (UK) - - UNDERWATER SPECIAL -

A SMALL PVA bag is a great tactic for carp, tench and bream, presenting a dinner plate-sized spread of pellets with the hookbait right in the middle. The air trapped in the bag also helps to cushion the fall of the rig, so that it does not sink into silt.

One thing to bear in mind, though, is that small pellets can very easily be moved around by the wash from passing bream and carp.

I find that it is worth recasting with a fresh bag regularly so that there are always plenty of pellets around the hookbait.
