FEW wa­ters in the re­gion can of­fer bream fish­ing on a par with the three lakes here.

The Northamp­ton­shire venue has been in fine form for slabs this sum­mer with an­glers net­ting fish close to dou­ble fig­ures us­ing a va­ri­ety of meth­ods.

Fish­ery boss Mick Hewlett said: “It’s the Scot­land Pond where most of the slab ac­tion has been oc­cur­ring, to an­glers us­ing 6mm ex­pander pel­lets on the long pole or wag­gler fished around three rodlengths out – but you

can also tar­get and catch them on the stan­dard feeder ap­proach.”

Mean­while, on Brick­yard Lake, an­glers are bag­ging up with carp av­er­ag­ing 3lb fish­ing down in the mar­gins and out on the Method feeder. This tac­tic is also ac­count­ing for some lovely tench and cru­cians.
