CASTLE ASHBY FISHERY, GRENDON, NORTHANTS
FEW waters in the region can offer bream fishing on a par with the three lakes here.
The Northamptonshire venue has been in fine form for slabs this summer with anglers netting fish close to double figures using a variety of methods.
Fishery boss Mick Hewlett said: “It’s the Scotland Pond where most of the slab action has been occurring, to anglers using 6mm expander pellets on the long pole or waggler fished around three rodlengths out – but you
can also target and catch them on the standard feeder approach.”
Meanwhile, on Brickyard Lake, anglers are bagging up with carp averaging 3lb fishing down in the margins and out on the Method feeder. This tactic is also accounting for some lovely tench and crucians.
